I love shopping-window shopping most of the time…LOL! In shopping, we get something good, beautiful and useful for ourselves. When I shop, I shut off the other things in my life including worries, tensions and pressures. Is this women’s way of de-stressing? I knew friends who go shopping if they’re feeling down and after the escapade; they end up feeling much better.

Do you remember my post about the red chair confessions where at first a young woman confesses her unnamed indulgence in the church? It was recently revealed that the woman’s unnamed confession was her new found addictions to Talbots!

You see, shopping for a woman is an indulgence; it’s like treating yourself. Who in the world does not like treats? I noticed that women will go shopping even if they are feeling especially good and feel even better at the end of it.

Shopping for me is like a trail; it’s a treasure hunt of sorts. Like tonight, when I visited Talbots my mind wandered wildly. What if I received $500 gift card for Talbots? What would I buy? The idea of shopping virtually with my imaginary $500 excites me…he...he... (I know I sound ridiculous!) It’s too good to be true! After few minutes, this is what I shop with my imaginary $500:

Equestrian-print tee =$69
jewel-print shirt =$ 79
leather spectator ballet flats=$99
Croc-embossed shoulder bag= $149
Croc-embossed wallet=$59
beaded bracelet=$39
TOTAL= $494

I tell you, I enjoy my virtual shopping at Talbots! You can shop by style or by occasions. Their apparels range from Tees and Knits to Cord adored, shoes from loafers and flats to Croco embossed and accessories from jewelry to croco embossed! They seemed to be a fairly conservative company for so long but now they took few risks and seem to be working on capturing a younger demographic. I am a kind of lady who's always on the go and their versatility line suits well for me.

So, is shopping therapeutic? Whether you are cheering yourself up from a tragedy or celebrating a happy occasion there is always something uplifting about being able to purchase things you love that always brings light into the heart. Aside from the items or services being purchased, the act of acquisition itself is known to bring joy to many.

Just be wise in your shopping!
