I'm Tagged! You're "IT"!

Because of "computer breakdown", I just learned today that Typhoon Ondoy hit Philippines last September 26, 2009. Metro Manila and nearby areas were flooded which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. I just hope that all my friends in blogosphere who's in Manila are safe. Thank God that Pehpot is well and fine.. I read her latest post today. How about Fehdz and Kaye?. Hope you're all fine girls.

By the way, I think our computer is OK now after my bro checked it ...sorry I dunno how to explain the problem of our computer using the technical terms...he..he..Just so glad it's fine now and I could post pending tags like this one:

I'm tagged by Sweet_Shelo and I had lots of fun doing it.. Thanks sis..

Fun tag goes like this:

Do you think you're hot?

...I rather stay "cold"...LOL! I'm not really concerned with how "hot" I am. Other people's ideas of what's sexy don't concern me. And women who told me these things are usually more attractive and confident than those who praise themselves and accept that they're "hot". ..*wink*

Please, upload your favorite picture

Why do you love this picture?
-I love my baby's smile. It's the first time he flashed his smile to us as sweet as this when he's barely 4 months old. Whenever I'm tired and bored, I just look at it and it helps unburden the load of the day.

When was the last time you ate pizza?
-September 5, during the baby shower which I hosted

What was the latest song you've heard?
- Friend of God by Michael Gungor

What are you doing while working on this game?
-blogging!?!

What is your favorite nickname?
-Faith (only few friends call me this name and my Values Education teacher in high school)

What kind of person are you?
- introvert but a very friendly soul

What is your favorite song?
- Who am I? by Casting Crowns

What is your favorite food?
-Thai and Japanese food

What is the most stressful thing to you?
-making worksheets for 3 year-old Thai children...Choosing the "easiest of the easiest" worksheet can be stressful, you know:(

Mention the 3 must-have items on your purse.
-wallet, cellphone and mirror

What is your favorite color/s?
- pink, powder blue

What is your not full-filled-yet dream?
-building our own house, finishing PhD in Education

What is your favorite city to stay?
-Hatyai City...he..he..visit me here and you'll know why...If only I could get a permanent residence ...whew...maybe soon....

I wanna tag Kaye,Seiko, Meryl and Hazel

What benefits can you get in sponsoring online contests?

It would be the first time on October 5 for Her and History to launch it's giveaway after 9 months of blogging. Looking for sponsors is not an easy job plus I don't have much time to bloghop and ask other bloggers to sponsor due to my very hectic schedules at school. Amidst the pressures, "computer breakdown" and limited time, I'm so grateful that there are lots of bloggers out there who pledge to sponsor the upcoming contest. The result is more than what I expected!

What benefits can you get in sponsoring my upcoming blog contests?

Gained Backlinks – as I featured my sponsors HERE and HERE , I'm creating backlinks for you. What are "backlinks"? Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL's). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

Build Connections – The sponsors could build positive and beneficial relationship with the host (me), co-sponsors, and participants. Who knows through this blog contest of mine , one of you sponsors will be contacted by co-sponsors or participants for a business deal, partnership and future online projects/contests in the future...you could thank me..he..he..

Do you have any other ideas of the benefits of sponsoring online contests? I would love to hear from you.

Quick Postie: Blue Screen and Application Crash

Maybe I'll be gone for awhile coz our computer experienced "blue screen" which shut down every minute and it badly needs it's "check-up"...Hmmmm. Hope it will be fine before our contest starts on October 5.

Thanks for bearing with me.

Two absents in a week...first time in my teaching career

Last time I posted HERE that if I'll be absent today that we'll make a history and YES it is!

Yesterday, when my hubby came to school to fetched me he told me that there's a change of schedule in their school's calendar...instead of having their final test on SUNDAY, it is moved TODAY! OH no...I can't do a thing so before I went home, I went to see the head of the kindergarten department and told her of my predicament. Glad that she's considerate and understands my situation.

So, I'm at home now taking care and bonding with my baby.

I'm sick today...

My energy has zapped today! I felt so drained today that I don't have energy left to do anything plus I have sore throat...I finally decided not to go to school so I just stayed at home blogging resting. I feel better today. I want to wake up early tomorrow and I'm hoping that my body won't feel lack of pep and vitality again.

The babysitter asked me today that on Friday she will not be able to come because she's going to have a "visa run"..Oh no..I have to be absent again...:( Thank God that when I told my hubby he said they don't have class on Friday so he'll be the one to take care of our baby. Thank you so much my dear. You really help unload the burden I felt this morning that I'll be absent from school for 2 days in a week. If it happens, this will be the first in history...he..he...

The Fashion Explorer

...meet my new blog The Fashion Explorer-my 4th blog in the making and the only one in wordpress platform...he..he..Actually, I have already 6 blogs but the other two aren't yet ready to meet the media.

The Fashion Explorer is my way of unleashing the “fashionista” in me. This blog will talk about various prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing tips, fashion tips and all types of fashions in people that make up the world as well as my own exploration experiences in the world of fashion and beyond.

In terms of fashion, I like what’s stood the test of time. I like simple but well-styled clothes that don’t scream trendy. I’m not really into “brands” and “signatures” at all times. I’m just being practical in spending the resources that God entrusted in me. I could stay updated and modern and having clothes stay in style for a while. You wouldn’t caught me in animal prints, fake fur or super bright colors.

I do agree (sometimes) with my friends’ comments that I’m pretty cool when it comes to fashion.I do think about the cool trends but I’m also very happy with what I have. I could be a style guru Smileys someday…if I’ll try Smileys. Who knows?

I could look great whether I’m in Tesco’s or a flash restaurant. I experience having friends who really look for me for fashion advice because they think that I know how to help them . In shopping, I always see to it that my purse isn’t suffering too much!

You are welcome to visit The Fashion Explorer and explore fashion with me Smileys

I wanna thank Kaye of Random WAHM Thoughts for the blog makeover of my site. Without your help it wouldn't look glamorous as can be!

Happy Birthday Benzene Jay!

Happy 22nd Birthday to my dear brother Benzene Jay whom we fondly call "Zene". He's already on his last year of finishing his course in Bachelor of Science in Material Science and Engineering at Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology.

We are praying and hoping that you'll have the best in life bro with God's abundant blessings.

How Old is Old?

Have you once asked yourself "How old is old?" . I haven't pondered upon this question before until Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts and Yami of Mom Writes for a Cause gave me this tag, which is actually a contest sponsored by Cathara Main.

The question reminds me of my dear father. I knew that if I'll jokingly tell him that he's old now...he would simply remind me that he's not old, he's simply getting older...he..he..

Old means that you have given up. I know a lot of young people who are "old". They veg out on couches watching TV all the time or playing computer games instead of reading a good book. They look exhausted and drawn only from entertaining themselves nearly to death. Too bad...tsk..tsk...

Getting older on the other hand, means discovering more of life. It means refusing to retire in the mind. George Burns, when turning 92 said: "Don't retire, because you don't enjoy anything when you're retired. Fall in love with what you're going to do for living."

How old is old then? It is ageless- it can't be measured by age but by the condition of how you view your life. You're OLD if you give up in this life , retire in the mind and stopped discovering more of life.

I refused to be old, yet I accept that I become more creative in getting older.

OLD is always young until the NEW arrives. Old never becomes old because it is only born when the new one comes. OLD also is the present name of the past therefore it's always born everyday.

Share to us what you think about this topic at Cathara Main.

Here are the rules:

1. Blog about ‘How old is old?’

It should be at least 50 words. You could write it in any way you want. Ex., 65, it’s when most people retire and blah blah… or when an individual is already sexually active etc, etc. There are no rules as to how daring you want your answers to be. :)

2. Your post must contain a link back to this post.

3. Tag at least 5 people and let them know about it.

4. Subscribe to Cathara’s feeds or if you got a blog roll, exchange links with her.

5. Let Cathara know that you entered this contest by leaving a link to your post on her comment box.

I love to hear what my witty friends, Kaye, Hazel, Pehpot, Seiko, and Chubskulit, Rose have in mind for this question: How old is old?

Do I need Free URL Forwarding?

Have you heard about Free Shorter URL Redirect Service? It is also known as Free URL Forwarding, Free Redirects, URL Redirection, Free Sub-domains, etc. This service provides their clients with FREE and usually short, catchy and easy to remember web address for their web site that can be used and accessed world wide.

The clients who availed this kind of service can redirect or point this free URL (web address) to ANY existing website and access this web site through the short URL (short web address) provided, no matter where their website is actually located/hosted.

Example:

Your old: http://idunnomyname.blogspot.com
» Your new: http://jenny.bind.ro

«Your old: http://somesubdomain.domain.com/~user/directory/file.html
» Your new: http://jenny.afterfuture.com «

I wonder What for do I need a Shorter URL Redirect Service?

A blogger like me already have web sites being hosted by my ISP and by a free hosting provider. And when I publish a website on the web in such way (free of charge), I usually face several BIG "problems":

(1) free web addresses are usually long and difficult to remember, something like this one - http://members.your-hosting-provider.com/~username/;

(2) free web space providers are usually not very reliable and do not offer useful features, so I probably would change my web hosting providers, and thus my website address always changes as well;

(3) it is not always possible to obtain a paid domain name, but everyone wants his/her website to look professionally like me. Who doesn't want, right?

Shorter URL Redirect Service helps to solve these problems by providing a short, easy to remember, professionally looking, catchy, permanent web site addresses, something like http://www.username.xxx.xx

It doesn't matter where your website is hosted, you can always access it with the free url provided by such service. Usually, it is also very easy to re-point your free short url to any other website hosting provider you like.

Basically, Shorter URL Redirect Service is a FREE alternative to a PAID domain name. If you're interested, you may visit YourNewURL.com to get one for yourself.

Buzz: 2 more weeks to go!

...two more weeks to go and it's sembreak! Yeheeyyyy! By October we'll only have class from 9-12 noon and we're free for the rest of the day.

I'm I really free for the rest of the day? I don't think so...I need to finish the worksheet for K-1 and K-2 for the head teacher told me that she planned to have them book-bind .

See you next time...I have so much to tell you about my joy of knowing that my labor in teaching is not in vain. I'll tell you next time with tons of photos and videos. You
ll surely love my kiddos.

$3 for Daniel

I'm visiting Niko's site, Girls Rule to pass my entry of the weekly meme Girl's Talk when I read one of her posts that George Daniel Arevalo Samson, 5 months old son of her high school friend Clarissa has biliary atresia with cirrhosis and is in immediate need of liver transplant. The operation has never been done in the Philippines and the doctor’s advice is to go to Taiwan for the cheapest operation of which will cost roughly 3 Million Pesos ($60,000).

Let us pray for Daniel and do what we can to help him go to Taiwan ASAP! By just donating $3, it will go a long way. If you have a blog please spread about this $3 for Daniel Project please.

For your donation, please visit Niko's blog and click her paypal donate button at the right sidebar.

Thank you.

ActivTrak- Employee Monitoring Software

I chat with my dear cousin and convinced her to start blogging. I told her she could do it during office hours if she has nothing to do. She told me that she can't. Her company installed ActivTrak, an Employee monitoring software. They are monitored in real time. The current activity of all employees can be displayed on one screen at one time. I wonder when would this software be available in Thailand. Currently, we're monitored through security cameras in the campus.

ActivTrak is short for Activity Tracker. I think that aside from tracking application and web usage on one's company's workstations, it is also best to use at school's computers to allow you to answer the question - "Who's doing what and for how long."

To know more about ActivTrak watch their 10-minutes online demo HERE!

of Chatrooms and getting married

One of my close friends in elementary is finally getting married on December! As I visited my friendster profile just this afternoon, I read her post on shoutout box that she's currently engaged. I asked her about her hubby-to-be and knew that she met him at West Virginia Chat Lines. I have lots girl friends who got married with men whom they knew first at chat rooms and they're happily living as husband and wife filled with peace and love.

Is it OK that I will recommend http://www.westvirginiachatcity.com to my single friends? Maybe there's no harm if I'll introduce this chat room to my friends because I have already a friend who can vouch for the credibility of this chat room. They can sign up here for free, meet people and maybe find their lifetime partner. Who knows? To you my friend, Lady J, congratulations and best wishes for your wedding!

107-year-old Malaysian woman seeks 23rd hubby

Could you believe that this 107-year-old Malaysian woman seeks 23rd hubby? Actually, she says that she is ready to marry for the 23rd time because she fears her current drug addict husband might leave her for a younger woman...he..he...Unbelievable!

Wook Kundor holds the record for largest age disparity in a legal marriage . Four years ago she was married to Muhammad Noor Che Musa, a man 70 years her junior in northern Terengganu state. What motivated Muhammed to marry her? He said in an interview that mutual respect and friendship turned to love. Is he after her money? Definitely NO! She's poor, childless and alone. So, it's TRUE LOVE, you may say...Honestly, I don't know...it's hard to comprehend this kind of love. They've proven that age doesn't matter.

But Wook is now looking for new love as she fears that Muhammad, 37, who is undergoing voluntary drug rehabilitation treatment in the capital Kuala Lumpur, will leave her once the programme ends, she told the Star newspaper.

Could she find a 23rd husband this time? Let's just wait and see. She emphasized that her intention to remarry is to fill her forlornness and nothing more than that, adding that she felt lonely without her husband by her side to celebrate the coming Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr next week. How would Muhammad react if he heard about her quest?

As far as I know through our Muslim Instructor before, Muslim men are allowed by their religion to take up to four wives at a time, but reports of women who marry more than once are rare. Muslim women do not practice polygamy. I didn't know if her previous 21 husbands are alive.

Body of Annie Le was finally found!

This morning as I was watching Fox News Channel, I was saddened of what happened to a 24-year-old Annie Le, a Yale graduate student, who was lost just days before she was to be married. I've been following the news for few days now and finally her body was found stuffed inside a wall in the basement in the wall chase — a deep recess where utilities and cables run between floors. The basement houses rodents, mostly mice, used for scientific testing by multiple Yale researchers, said Robert Alpern, dean of the Yale University School of Medicine. Her body was found last Sunday (the day she was to marry), five days after she vanished from a heavily secured lab building accessible only to university employees! Is it an inside job?

Yale officials said the building where Le worked would reopen under increased security. Still, some students worried about their safety. I hope Yale's security guards has the latest training in all matters pertaining to personal safety and security like California Guard Card Training and firearms training. I once heard that firearms training in Los angeles is the best!

I was left perplexed on how come the slaying was done in a building about a mile from Yale's main campus only, accessible to Yale personnel with identification cards only and with some 75 video surveillance cameras monitor all doorways? If it happens to Le, it could happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere, too! It's best for Yale to consider turning to Security Consultants to aide them in their decision as to whether or not their security measures are effective or not, especially against changes and developments in possible security breach attempts. Security consultation is important in obtaining a peace of mind for employees, students and management, especially as rapid growth and development take place.

I hope and pray that justice for Annie Le's death be served!
