How to download files with a torrent?

I'm so curious about how to download movies from internet. I couldn't use my DVD rental card anymore because the the place where we used to rent DVD's moved far from our place. Everytime I wanted to watch new movies, I'll ask my hubby to download movies for me. He told me one day that he'll teach me how to download torrents. What are torrents anyway?

Torrent is a small file (around few kilobytes) with the suffix .torrent, which contains all the information needed to download a file the torrent was made for. That means it contains file names, their sizes, where to download from and so on. You can get torrents for almost anything on lots of web sites and torrent search engine. Torrent is the most popular way of downloading large files, including movies and games. Okay, it seems more clearer to me.

I asked my hubby how to download movies with a torrent. Here's what I learned:

1. Find a torrent program that will suit your needs. In our case, we used. Azureus, now called Vuze.

2. Follow the instructions on downloading and installing your chosen client.

3. Go to a torrent site and search for a file you want to download. The QueenTorrent.com is one of the popular sites that I recently found.

4. Once you have found the desired file on the torrent site, click the "Download This Torrent" (or whatever the word they used that means the same). Usually, the web browser's file download manager will instruct you on what to do with this file. You want to open the file with your torrent program. Like me, I download last night the movies "Make it Happen" and "Deception". When it's done downloading, just double-click the file.

"Download" page will appear after you click "Download this file"

5. If it doesn't open that way, just save the .torrent file to an easy to locate place. Then open your torrent client and use the "Open Torrent" feature(Most torrent clients support click & drag).

6. In my case, the download starts automatically after I double-click the file. I can do something to pass the time, because torrents downloading do not require your attention and will download in the background.

the page the shows how torrents downloading looks line in Vuze
(click the image to enlarge)

Isn't torrents downloading easy? Try it for yourself. Even newbie like me can do it. Happy torrents downloading!

an AUNT for the first time!

I thank God for the safe delivery of my first niece, Hyphzybah Jazzyz "HJ" today at 11:37 am. She weighs 3.25 kg with the length of 52 cm. She's such a sweet, pretty, and a healthy cutie angel of my bro Ben and his wife sis Nonz. Congratulations to the both of you! I'm such a proud aunt!

taken few minutes after the delivery at the nursery

after 6 hours, she's brought to the room

joy filled the hearts of the uncle (my hubby), the cousin (my boy), and the aunts (me and our youngest)

I wanna take this opportunity to also greet my friends Cliff and Grace for their new bundle of joy, Zhenexia Gwynne, who was born last October 22. Congratulations!

Welcome to parenthood guyz:)

Romance fails us and so do friendships, but the relationship of parent and child, less noisy than all the others, remains indelible and indestructible, the strongest relationship on earth.

A bath robe on my wedding day

I was browsing our wedding pictures last October 18 (our second wedding anniversary) to reminisce our wedding day two years ago. I remembered how hard it is to find a simple and yet elegant waffle bath robe or a personalized terry bath robe for my wedding day. I'm not yet familiar with online buying before. I was about to give up when I found what I'm looking for. I love the quality and it happens to be just about the same crimson color as my wedding motiff. I wore it as I was having my make-up and getting ready dressing my wedding gown.

waffle bath robe

I would suggest for those who are getting married to find the perfect bath robe for your wedding day. Can't you just picture yourself at the spa in your own personalized waffle bath robe a day before your wedding? Better than a robe for multi-tasking at the spa, the luxury waffle weave bath robe goes from the sauna to poolside with comfort and ease. It is made of 60% cotton/40% polyester woven waffle weave fabric and very ideal for serious pampering.

terry bath robe

It's worth investing on bath robes, I tell you. After a long day at work, nothing is more soothing to the exhausted nerves than a warm bath, right? But after you’ve shut off the shower, does comfort have to end already? With special bath robes , comfort can go a long way beyond the warm bath. That’s why we need bathrobes – they bring comfort to us wherever we are. It gives off a feeling of being enveloped and warmed.

The best robe for bathing is the famous hotel bath robe. These are the thick, white, luxuriant terry cloth bathrobe made of terry cotton. Terry cotton is a soft, thick fabric that can absorb water fast, thus the use of the famous terry bathrobe for bathing. The terry bath robe is famous for being one of the best things offered in hotels. Hotel guests actually look forward to using those robes to make their bathing experience memorable and highly invigorating as I've experienced at NASA Vegas Hotel in Bangkok.

mint towel wrap (Pink Cheetah )

Presently, I'm looking for a towel wrap, something that will not only look good but is versatile. This is the perfect accessory for anyone to take with them when they are going on vacation as it can be used on the beach, in the hotel room or even when you are simply lounging by the poolside. I would have chose this as my dressing robe on my wedding day if it's available in our place. It's great for the "make-up" session too as you need to apply foundation on your neck, shoulder and back.

The next time you'll be invited for a wedding, try to give the newly-wed couple a personalized luxury bath towels with their name, Mr & Mrs, to always remind them of their very special day! What do you think?

The essence of choosing the right web hosting

I've been asked by my friend about webhosting and the imporatnce of its service. Well, Thanks toMr.Google that helped me answer my friend's querry . We all know (we-the bloggers) that web hosting service allows the individuals and the organizations to provide the space to showcase their websites via the World Wide Web, which is a large collection of the websites hosted on the web servers all over the world. A web host is a web server or computer where all the web site’s html files, graphics reside. These servers are the super computers having extremely huge hard drives, or an array of hard drives.

Web hosting is of many types, and users find certain capabilities in most of these packages. Web hosting prices vary depending on one’s requirements.

The webhosting of the personal websites that do not require any specific tools and usually have low traffic is sometimes free. Free web hosting is good but there are some of its drawbacks also. Many web hosting services do have their policies that can limit certain content, functions, scripting languages or uses.

Personal web site hosting, just for fun
I would look for the cheapest hosting space that still provided some level of speed and reliability. You can still obtain web space for free from some hosting companies. Sure there will be no support if you have problems, it will be slow and not always reliable but for a hobby site that's usually acceptable.

Small business web site hosting
Most small businesses today, even if they don't have a web site, use email. For a small business to lose their web site for a day would not be good but it would not be the end of the world, however, to lose important emails or have them delayed until the next day can cost more money than cheaper hosting can save in a year.

Small businesses have the hardest time balancing quality web hosting with reasonable pricing. Most small business people don't have the time or ability to wade through different hosting companies products and therefore a lot of them end up paying too much ("just to be safe").

Large Business web hosting
To a lot of larger businesses web hosting, even expensive web hosting, is not a problem. The important thing to remember though is that in these circumstances the stakes are much higher if things go pear shaped, having one anxious email user without their email is bad, having a thousand, including the Chairman is a career changing event!

You need to have a knowledgeable and capable tech support person that sees you as an important customer, not one of 500,000 customers. Picking the right hosting provider here is critical.

Another new web hosting site that you can use if you're looking for a new web hosting service is the Web Hosting Geeks. They'll give you the Top 10 Web Hosting — Best Web Hosts (2009) and their hosting plans include at least one free domain name registration and 30 day money back guarantee.Cheap professional web hosting services is under $10 a month.

If you're looking for a cheap host, try reading first the 4 critical factors to consider before choosing a cheap host. It's such an enlightenment especially for a newbie like me.

Teaching with Impact

If you want your teaching to have impact, you must do these three things:

1. Know your students. And that takes commitment and time. This is where we lose a lot of teachers. There's no magic formula. Good teaching has a price tag: you've got to be willing to pour out your life for others. If your students have to trip you up on your way out of class in order to have a moment with you, you're not going to reach them. People don't care how much you know, until they first know how much you care (Watch the Freedom Writers).

2. Earn the right to be heard. Walk out on the street and tell the first guy you meet that you know what his problem is-and he'll probably give you a piece of his mind. Even you know what his problem is , you won't get through to him . Credibility must precede communication. And our celebrity society has never figured that out. You must earn a hearing!

3. Be willing to become vulnerable. It's the broken who become masters at mending. Don't be afraid to let people know what you're struggling with, and what you've struggled with through the years. People tend to see us in terms of where we are now, rather than in light of where we've come from and what we've been through. They didn't see the process. So tell them about the God you know personally, and what He's brought you through. That'll impact them every time!

on being sick, on-going blog contest, prayer requests

I visited my blog this afternoon and I noticed that as of today, October 16, 2009 I made only 8 posts for this month- it's like having a post once every other day...*sigh*! I was thinking that I could create new posts each day, more time in blog hopping and leaving comments to my friends out there because we only have class in the morning and I have vacant time in the afternoon but I was wrong....I'm sick for the whole week- I have cold! My stuffy or runny nose is very irritating and I'm sneezing to the max! Achhooooo!!!!(bless you). Congestion puts pressure on the sinus area causing my head to hurt. My eyes became runny too (I feel I have more tears than usual) that I only feel comfortable if I stay in the dark corner of our house so blogging is such an impossible task but don't blame me that I still sneaked on visiting some of you...he..he...Oh the itchiness I feel. It seems that I need to scratch inside my nose, throat and eyes ! Such a torturing feeling!Argh!!! Even I sleep as early as 7 pm, I feel like I have not had enough sleep and I just don't have the energy to do everyday activities. Good thing I have my hubby to the rescue. He accompanied me to our English Camp and helped me teaching the class. What a relief! Though I have a cough and fever, I'm thankful that it's just mild, not too serious. Generally, I'm feeling better today!

By the way, I also spend time counting the entries for blog contest and I tell you I'm so meticulous in reviewing your entry - if you really followed the requirements and if you've verified your subscription coz I just want to make it fair for everybody. Right? I also took time to visit your blogs and thanking you for joining the contest. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me and I'll gladly offer you my help. Currently, I already have 427 entries on my list! If you haven't yet joined the contest, take time to join now! Who knows? You'll be one of the lucky winners! I tell you, hosting a contest is not easy and counting your entries takes time-I mean LOTS of time but I I enjoy every time someone exerts efforts and time to join the contest. Your support for this contest is immeasurable and I'm so grateful to all the sponsors and participants. may we benefit all from this experience of FUN and CELEBRATION!

P.S I'll be having a very hectic schedules this month for the following reasons:

1. My parents and youngest sister will be coming on Sunday. Please pray for their safe travel.
2. We'll be heading to Bangkok for the renewal of my passport and processing of other important documents. Please pray for the safe travel ,smooth processing of papers and favors from the officials.
3. My bro and sis-in-law will be expecting next week for their first daughter. I'm an expectant aunt too! Please pray for the safe delivery of Hyphzybah Jazzyz.
4. We'll be moving to our new apartment on the last week of this month. Please pray for the extra strength in packing and unpacking of things...he..he...

I appreciate your visits though you'll seldom meet me in blogosphere. I'll visit you as soon as everything will be settled.

God bless you all!

Not a "Perfume-aholic"

My friends love to give me perfume because I'm a "thrifty user"...LOL! I mean if they gave me 236 ml Victoria Secret's Dream Angels, it's already good for a year supply for me. They help me finish it once theirs is used up...LOL!I'm not really into expensive perfumes. The scent matters most to me rather than the brand. If I'll buy a perfume, I'll choose soft floral scent- something that will tell my personality...that I'm sweet and playful but confident with a bit of maturity. There are few perfumes that makes me physically ill.

I don't really have a fave perfume . I just use what's available..he..he..Recently, I dig on my toiletries purse and in my cabinet to show to you what perfumes I'm currently using (that if I can remember to wear one..LOL!)

Ever Bilena Silkening Body Spray, Yessamin Purse Concentres, Mistines' Cattleya and Avon's Surreal Eau de Toilette Spray

Tip for today: The reason on why stores sell perfume in glass bottles is because the light breaks down the fragrance, so you have to toss it after about a year, even if it's still full. The secret is to keep them in a dark place.

What's your perfume?..or let's say your favorite perfume? Care to share them? We'll be interested to read your entry at Niko's site -where GIRLS truly RULE!

Nap time needs nap mat and a backpack for a diaper bag

Two more weeks and my baby will turn 1! Time flies so fast that soon he'll be in day care. I see to it that the specified time I set-up for him for regular naps will be continued. It is important to his health and development. I learned from his pediatrician that establishing a regular nap time can help avoid some kids sleeping problems and will keep them happy, healthy and more alert.

How about if my baby will be in day care? Here in our school, their daycares have a specified nap time set-up that all toddlers have to follow. What if my toddler may find it difficult to sleep somewhere that isn't his home? I hope sending along one of his favorite stuffed toys for him will help him settle down with at nap time. They said that having a familiar comfort from home can often help.

I learned from my Thai co-teachers that having a nap mat can also help make nap time more inviting when your toddler is away from home. Nap mats can easily be rolled up which makes them great for traveling with. Some nap mats even come with built in pillows and blankets that are sewn onto one side of the mat, making sleeping on it much more comfortable. They can also be sent along to your toddler's daycare, which may help him look forward to napping.

Talking about nap mat, I found at Posy Lane mint nap mats that are padded and lined with nylon and cotton with a ribbon trimmed, soft, fleecy blanket. It rolls up and has a Velcro closure with carrying strap. It has a soft fleece blanket attached and a removable foam pillow. To clean, you'll just remove kid and pillow, then toss the rest in the washing machine. It's perfect for daycare, preschool or kindergarten. For me, I'll buy this aqua nap mat for my little boy:

Another on-the-go products from Posy Lane that made me fell in love the first time I laid my eyes on it is their cute Sports Stephen Joseph quilted backpack. It is made made from vinyl and the backpack is very easy to take care of. You'll just wipe with a damp cloth. There is plenty of room for all of my child’s belongings . It is also ideal for use as a small diaper bag.The backpack is adorable just the way it is, but even cuter with my child’s name embroidered on it.

isn't this adorable?

By the way, my youngest sister will be coming over with my parents next week. I am eyeing for this Girls Rule Stephen Joseph Backpack for her. This is so cool for her especially when she'll use this back to school on November. She'll surely love this! I can't wait to purchase them all next month.

Do I care? Listen! I care.

It is important to show people (our spouse, children, parents, siblings and friends) that we care. While big and extravagant gifts are one way, it is the small things that we do every day that are the most important. Would you agree? For me, I don’t need to be creative, have a big budget or heaps of bright ideas to show someone that I care for them.

There are couples of things that some people have done for me that have meant a lot to me- a surprise birthday party treat from friends, “bring home” cookies from my hubby, a hug when I had a bad day, a total stranger smiled at me when I’m down and it brightened my day, someone helped me out when I really need assistance and someone just helped me out for no reason at all. It’s nice to know that they cared enough to want to help me. These things stand out in my memory though they’re not extravagant things.

There are some small things that I did and do (and still planning to do them over and over again) to show my love ones that I care:

For my dear husband:
1. Threw a surprise birthday celebration! I planned it with my friends and kept it a secret (it’s the best part!). I asked him to go out with us (me and our baby) to Lee Garden’s Plaza Hotel to buy a new pair of shoes. He got the biggest surprise in his life when I brought him to Sizzler with our friends waiting for us! My husband loved the surprise idea and he told me that it’s a great way for me to show how much I care for him…hmmmm…It’s always the thought that counts *grin*…

2. Gave him a massage for no reason at all. I just came up to him out of the blue with a nice, soothing back or neck massage. It’s one way of reminding him why he fell in love with me in the first place…LOL!

3. Gave him a budget to buy his favorite jeans, shirt and shoes though it means ¼ of my salary…he..he…Price doesn’t matter as long as you see that your lovey-dovey is happy and satisfied. It’s one way of showing my care for his “appearance needs”.

4. Though I don’t like to watch sports, but because I care, I managed to watch with him sometimes and get the hang of it! I do now appreciate watching tennis competition and learned the “who’s who” in the tennis world as well as the world of boxing. It surely made him happy that I’m trying to share something that he enjoys.

5. I took time to compliment my significant other on how he looks. I appreciate his new haircut, new clothes, and even his new perfume! I believe that this shows that I’m attentive to him and that I care.

6. I always kiss him at night to say “good night” and in the morning to greet “good morning” even if I have to wake him up…he..he... For me, peck on the cheek can be worth a million dollars at the right time.

7. I always remember to tell that him that I love him every single day!

8. Shutting up and praying for my husband. I pray for his spiritual walks, his emotions, his role as a father and a decision-maker, his faith and his future, his health and physical protection and his security in work and finances. Prayer moves the hand of God to do the things which we can’t do.

My ways of showing my care for my husband are endless! I try to think of the things that have really mattered to me and I do similar things to show to my husband that I do care. Everyone loves to be loved! And like the old saying goes "The love you make is equal to the love you take." So the best way to feel loved is to show someone else you love them first!

For my baby:
1. Give him lots of little kisses on the nose!

2. Look at him when I’m feeding him.

3. Saying "I Love You" a LOT to him!

4. I always pay attention to him when he is cooing and babbling or whatever! I listen to him and honor his early attempts of communications.

5. I hold, cuddle and love him as much as possible.

6. Smile at him when he first wake up and greets him “good morning my son”, with a kiss and a hug. I make it sure that I’ll be the first thing my baby sees when he wakes up. His smile is priceless.

7. Sit him on my lap and read stories for him

8. Being excited about every new development and discovery and journal them in his blog that I especially created for him.

9. I make diaper changing fun with my funny faces, songs, tickles and noises…he..he…

10. I tell him everyday on how grateful I am to have him! Sometimes, I go into details about what I love about him. I pray with my baby to share my spirituality and let him hear me thanking God for him.

I think there are countless ways to show to my baby how much I care for him. Whatever I do for him, I see to it that I do it with love .

For my family:

1. We lived thousand miles away from my family. I called them and told them that I miss them. I talked about something that I both did that was either interesting or funny. I don’t forget to tell them that I love them too.

2. I send SMS or Chikka messages at least once a week to inform them of our happenings.

3. I greeted them on their birthdays and posted my greetings (in digiscrapping form) on my blog site. I sometimes send money to the birthday celebrant.:)

4. I encouraged my siblings in their creative endeavors and professional pursuits. I’m their cheerleader, not their critic. I showed to them that I care by giving them praise and believing in their activities.

For my friends:

1. Organized a surprise baby shower! It’s a joy to see your pregnant friends came over to your house thinking that you’re just inviting them for a simple dinner and see that you have a surprise baby shower ready and waiting for them to enjoy!

2. If a friend is requesting some of my time, I make time for that friend. Simply telling her that I care is not as profound as showing her that I’m not too busy for her.

3. Listening and understanding a friend is one way to show that I care.

4. I don’t forget their birthdays. If I couldn’t send a gift on my friend’s birthday because she’s living in a faraway place, I send email or ecard to wish her a happy birthday. This simple act lets my friend know that I remember important things about him.

5. I give a small gift every now and then. I buy her favorite perfume or lipstick; treat her to her favorite steamboat restaurant or just simply giving her fancy earrings or fashionable wallet/purse. These small things can mean a lot to someone who wants to feel special.

No one can buy friendship at all. The ideas I listed above are things that I did to show my friend that I care with little gifts and my ways to show my appreciation that don't cost money. Showing your friends how important they are to you is a very important part of maintaining relationships. You don't have to do a lot of big things or spend a lot of time, but we all need to nurture our friendships.

How about you? How do you care for your love ones? Share them to us at Janet's Expression and Thoughts. If your ideas are unique you maybe picked up as one of the winners of her I-Care Blog Contest and covet the cash prize plus the 5000 EC! The contest ends tomorrow, October 7 so better hurry up!

A Call to Celebrate Her and History's Life and Love: Win tons of giveaways!

October 5-November 5, 2009

It's now time to celebrate
Her and History's Life and Love. I want to give God all the glory and honor for giving me generous sponsors here and there. Without you guys sharing your resources, this giveaway won't be realized (and to think it's my first time hosting a giveaway). For those who don't yet have any ideas on why I'm having a giveaway, you can read the details HERE. In summary, I want to celebrate birthdays (Hyzyd's 1st birthday and my father's 51st birthday) and our 2nd year wedding anniversary with you. It's indeed a call to celebrate my life and love!
